SILENT AUCTION
November 22, 2008
The PGIslanders will have a silent auction for a local charity along with a potluck dinner. We will need our members' help to make this new event a success.
Some ideas you may want to consider:
- Dinner for 2 or 4 or 6
- A sunset cruise with cocktails & hors d'oeuvres
- A lunch cruise
- An afternoon of sailing
- A basket of "cheer" with self-bottled wine or homemade treats
- Lessons:
- gardening
- cooking
- baking
- quilting
- sewing
- poker
- Mah Jongg
- computer programs like "PhotoShop" or music download
- digital camera use
- A painting
- A sculpture
- Jewelry
- Stained Glass
- Other art object
- A gift certificate for a service like landscape design or gardening or decorating help or cleaning
- anything else you think someone would BID $$ to have!
Participation credit will be given only to auction or potluck workers. Also, donors must agree that there is no intrinsic value to their donation since checks for winning bids will be made directly to the chosen charity.
SO, WHY DONATE? Each donor household will have the opportunity to propose a local charity to receive the proceeds of the auction. From the list of charities proposed, each donor household will have a vote. The charity with the most votes will be selected and announced to the general membership. AND, regardless of the charity selected, YOU'LL BE HELPING OUR COMMUNITY!
We're asking now so our snow bird friends will be included. So, please consider a donation, sign-up at the meeting and save November 22 to bid!
If you need more information, please contact Debbie Seter.
Host a Dinner for 8
We are doing one every other month or so, as participation dictates. Hostess is in charge. If you have not already signed up, contact Linda Glidden.
